Plunged again on concerns over the stability of GM and Citi

The tech sector joined in the retreat. It was also grappling with more mixed signals about the outlook for PC sales. Some analysts say the wait for Microsoft's upcoming Windows 7 operating system "could create a pause" in PC buying. Yahoo and Goggle fell 5% on growing concerns about weakness in the online advertising market. Nevertheless, Adobe managed to break free from the losing pack. This stock jumped 4% after the company said that it expects its earnings to be higher than expected.
